MIRA TELECOM grants financial and scientific support to complex physics research presented at the 31st European Congress on Molecular Spectroscopy, EUCMOS 2012

MIRA TELECOM, in collaboration with the Physics Faculty (University of Bucharest) and Horia Hulubei National Institute of Physics and Nuclear Engineering - IFIN HH, carried a complex physics research, the conclusions of which were presented at the 31st European Congress on Molecular Spectroscopy, EUCMOS 2012 (http://www.phys.ubbcluj.ro/eucmos2012/) held in Cluj between 26th and 31st of August 2012.

The specialist team from MIRA TELECOM and MIRA TECHNOLOGIES, that got involved in the research project was coordinated by Prof. Dr. L.C. Giurgiu and  included prof. Ștefan Tobă – physicist and researcher , Vasile Vasilescu – electronics researcher and Stelian Ilie – PhD in dangerous substances detection and President of MIRA TELECOM.  The company also granted financial support for the completion and publication of the research results.

The project  called „ A wideband pulse NQR (nuclear quadrupole resonance) spectrometer for detection of the 14N nuclei” aimed to detect the transitions between the quadrupole energy levels of the 14N nuclei in the range from 700 kHz to 6 MHz is reported. The spectrometer design allows to observe the effect of various arbitrary sequences of RF (radio frequency) pulses on the investigated substance.

The research work was presented by  Prof. Dr. L.C. Giurgiu (photo), from  Horia Hulubei National Institute of Physics and Nuclear Engineering - IFIN HH and included: spectrometer architecture, the main units of the NQR spectrometer and experimental tests results.
